About Us

Overview

Gospel Light Christian School provides the very finest traditional school education where your children can grow in all areas of life. Students benefit from high academic and spiritual standards with an emphasis on patriotism and character training.

Additional services such as hot lunch, transportation, and a day care program are available to fit the needs of your family. With clean, modern facilities and a safe environment, Gospel Light Christian School is well prepared to meet your educational needs.

Our goal is to provide a quality Christian education in a God-centered, Bible-based environment. All classroom learning experiences are designed to develop the students’ potential to the fullest.

Gospel Light Christian School provides a program that seeks to meet individual needs by using ability grouping and multi-level instruction to provide continuous progress for each child. Through continuity of instruction, the learning process avoids skipping or excessive repetition of basic skills. Efficient learning takes place as a student builds on skills he or she has mastered.

A major function of Gospel Light Christian School is to direct the students towards a personal relationship with Jesus Christ — what the Bible calls being “born again” (John 3:3,7; I Peter 1:23) or being “saved” (Romans10:10-13).

A further desire is for each student to learn and demonstrate a loving respect for God and his fellow man (Matthew 22:38-40). Students are also urged to accept responsibility for their actions and to make sound decisions based on godly (biblical) principles. To this end, GLCS encourages a discipline of daily devotions (prayer and personal Bible study) that will lead to a joyful, productive Christian life.

The procedures in our handbook are designed to help meet the following goals of Gospel Light Christian School:

– Train its students to love and respect the Word of God.
Because the Bible is the foundation stone of truth, every student will participate in weekly Bible classes. The philosophy of life, as taught by the Word of God, will permeate all aspects of each student’s learning
and daily school activities.

– Instill into its students standards for living which are noble and pure.
These standards include respect for the rights and property of others, a love for our nation, obedience to the law, self-discipline, and the importance of the individual.

– Give its students the finest in academic training.
Qualified Christian teachers, up-to-date teaching methods, and high educational standards combine to ensure the growth of the student’s intellect.

We believe in the Scriptures, both the Old and the New Testaments, to be verbally inspired by God through the Holy Spirit. They are inerrant in their original writings and providentially preserved in that inerrancy in their copying and translation. We hold to the Masoretic Hebrew Old Testament and Received Greek New Testament (Textus Receptus) preserved in English in the Authorized version, King James Bible. These Testaments are the Holy Word of God and the supreme and final authority in faith and life. We reject the misleading statement “the Bible ‘contains’ the Word of God” as Satan’s lie and attack upon the absolute authority holding us responsible for its total content. (2 Timothy 3:16-4:2)

We believe that the first man, Adam, was created in the image of God; that he sinned and thereby incurred spiritual and physical death not only for himself, but for the entire race to follow; therefore, all human beings are born with a sinful (depraved) human nature, equally deserving of the penalty of death. This “death” is separation from God, not annihilation. (Genesis 1:27; 3:6-24; Romans 5:12-19)

We believe that Jesus Christ was begotten by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary, and is equally God and Man. (Luke 2; John 1:1-26)

We believe the gospel record that the Lord Jesus Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures as a substitutionary sacrifice, was buried, and bodily rose again the third day, and that all who believe in Him are justified with God on the merit of His blood sacrifice. (1 Corinthians 15:1-4; Hebrews 9:11-10:22)

We believe in the present glorified life of the Lord Jesus Christ in heaven, interceding for us as High Priest and Advocate. (Hebrews 2:9-18; 4:4-18)

We believe in what the Bible calls the blessed hope, the personal, pre- tribulation, pre-millennial, and imminent return of our Lord Jesus Christ. (Titus 2:13, 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; 5:9-10; 2 Thessalonians 2; Revelation 22:20)

We believe that all those who receive the Lord Jesus Christ by faith are born again of the Holy Spirit, and thereby become children of God. (John 1:10-13, Acts 16:30-31)

We believe in the bodily resurrection of the just and the unjust: the just to everlasting blessedness, and the unjust to everlasting punishment. (1 Corinthians 15:12-58, 2 Corinthians 5:1-10, Hebrews 9:27, Revelation 20:11-22:20)

Principal

Welcome to Gospel Light Christian School! I hope that you will take some time to explore our website and learn about the mission and focus of our school. Gospel Light Christian School was established in 1972 for the purpose of giving students a Christ-centered education and preparing them to serve the Lord. That continues to be the focus today.

I attended Bob Jones University from 1992-1998 and received my B.S. in Education and my M.Ed. in Special Education. Upon graduating from BJU, I came to Gospel Light and began teaching the 5th grade. I thoroughly enjoyed teaching and was blessed to teach the 5th grade for 12 years. Through a variety of circumstances, the Lord led me to take the position of Principal at Gospel Light Christian School.

I have found that the people are what make Gospel Light special. You will find that the heart for ministry is evident from the faculty, staff, and all through the student body. My faculty and staff genuinely want to impact students and see them succeed in their relationship with Christ. Please contact the school office if you would like more information. We would love to hear from you!

Our History

GLCS is a ministry of Gospel Light Baptist Church

Gospel Light Christian School was founded 50 years ago with the sole purpose of educating students mentally and spiritually. When a parent showed Bro. Bobby a public school text book with curse words in it, his  heart was immediately burdened. One year later, August 19, 1972,  Gospel Light Christian School became an envisioned reality. The school  began with only six grades, but soon grew to a full K3 through 12th grade.
